Where science and intuition meet
New York City doesn't sit still long enough to be painted from observation. It has to be felt.
This series begins on foot, walking the city without an agenda, absorbing everything the streets give: color, texture, noise, people, energy. As someone with synesthesia, those impressions don't stay separate. They collapse into one another and register as color, as sensation, as something between thought and instinct.
The work that comes out of those walks isn't documentation. It's translation. Intuition leads the way. What lands on the canvas is the accumulated weight of a city block, processed through a neurological condition that doesn't distinguish between what's seen and what's felt.
This is NYC as I experience it. Not a portrait. A frequency.
