Artist Statement | Camille Salvador

My work is perception displayed.

My practice spans three bodies of work.

Expressionist Pop Art is a series of works I created using mixed media of acrylic and ink. The expression and chaos of expressionist abstract art with the controlled lines often found in pop art.

The Divine Poop Series is a surrealist mythological universe built from automatic drawing, absurdist on the surface, structural underneath.

The Chroma Series is photography: light and color as they actually exist, not as I process them.

Three languages. One practice. All of it living in New York. City

CAMILLE SALVADOR | About

I was born and raised in New York City, and I have lived most of my life in my own world.

As a neurodivergent I lived in my own world and now I create worlds.

I love contrast and dichotomies and love finding the medium where they can both live.

In my photography I mix black and white with color and in my abstract art, I mix chaos with structures lines and traditional with pop art.

Creation, for me, is joy, and expression of self love and complexities of being human.

Sometimes its not one thing or the other, it can be both!
